After taking a break, we decided to focus our priorities on cautiously exploring the area around us because we were far away from Felicia now, and we didn't know what kind of danger could be lurking around here.
As we were making our way through the grassy and forested area, we ran into a mutant and took it down.
"These things just die so easily," Genevieve said.
"Yeah, they're barely a threat at all," I replied. "Me and Tara fought a giant mutant just before we found you, and that thing was pretty vicious."
"It nearly killed him," Tara said to Genevieve.
"Yup, I was literally near the end," I said to Genevieve. "But I got one last strike in with my blade, and then the beast fell to the ground dead."
"Well, I'm glad you're still alive, Richard," Genevieve replied. "It would sure have sucked to lose a best friend."

Shortly after defeating the mutant, we encountered a group of giant turtles. Me and Genevieve fought them at close range while Tara was firing her arrows at them from the distance. They were no match for us, and one by one, they all fell to the ground dead.
"Excellent work, ladies," I said. "That's what I call swift teamwork!"
"Yuppers!" Tara replied.
"Cheers to teamwork," Genevieve shouted.

After processing the giant turtles, we continued to explore through the area. We saw some large monoliths scattered around the place including some in the distance.
"Look at all of those monoliths," Tara said. "I wonder what their purpose is."
"I wonder if they're related to the one we saw back near where we fought the giant mutant," I replied.
Genevieve examined the monoliths that were around us. "I have to say that they're quite mysterious."

We continued exploring and walked past what looked like a path that led to a desert. We avoided the path and continued moving in the same direction. After traveling a little further, we could see a lake in the distance.
"Look, a lake is just up ahead," I said. "Maybe we should go check it out."
"Sure, why not," Tara replied.
"I bet we'll encounter some giant crocodiles!" Genevieve said.

We made our way to the lake and attacked a couple of giant crocodiles. Tara kept her distance while me and Genevieve fought them at close range. The bastards were pretty vicious. They managed to inflict me and Genevieve with a few wounds before we slew them.
"Well, you were right about encountering some giant crocodiles, Genevieve," I said.
"Hey, it was a lucky guess!" Genevieve replied.
"Are you two okay," Tara asked. "Those crocodiles landed a few nasty attacks on both of you."
"The wound on my arm stings a little, but I should be fine," I replied.
"Meh, nothing I can't handle," Genevieve said.

After putting an end to the giant crocodiles, we decided to stay around the shore and take a break from exploring for the day.
"Alright, I think it's time to set up a camp and take a break from all of this exploring and fighting for the day."
"Sounds good to me," Tara replied. "Since we're so far away from Felicia though, I think we should probably build a shelter."
"A shelter sounds good," Genevieve replied. "It'll help protect us from any creatures that may be lurking around here."

Well, we sure had an interesting time exploring a bit around this new region today. Those monoliths really have me baffled though. Who knows, maybe one day we'll find out who built them and why they're there. Anyways, me and the ladies are now just gonna go and gather some resources so that we can build a shelter for our camp.
