A Massive Battle

Me, Tara, and the captain continued to explore the spaceport. We came across two factions gunning each other down. I think the side that lost was the remaining crew of the spaceport. Clearly, the other side was pirates. We engaged in a long battle with the pirates, and was it ever bloody. We managed to take them down, but it wasn't easy. Also, me, Tara, and the captain all took a few bullets ourselves, but fortunately, our spacesuits shielded most of the damage. So, it was mostly blunt impact from the bullets.

Damn, that was intense.

Tara

You're right, love. Let's reset. That firefight was brutal. How's your shoulder holding up after that ricochet? We should check the pirates' comms for any useful intel.

Richard

I think I’ll be fine, babe. Also, good idea. Let’s search them.

Tara

On it, love. Found a data pad on this one. Looks like they were after the same artifact we are. We might have competition.

Richard

There’s probably more of them than.

Tara

Likely, love. We should move carefully. Their logs mention reinforcements en route. Want to set up an ambush, or try to beat them to the artifact?

Richard

I think it’s probably best to try and find that artifact as soon as possible and get out of here.

Tara

Smart move, love. I'll scan for energy signatures while you check their last known coordinates. Faster we grab it, sooner we're sipping coffee back at the outpost.

Nothing like a coffee after a mission like this!

Tara

Couldn't agree more, love. Found a strong signal two decks up. Think we can make it before those reinforcements arrive? I'll cover the rear while you lead.
