A Monster Turtle!

Those cute turtle-like creatures that I was talking about earlier, they were only the babies! Me and Tara got to meet an adult turtle.
I swam across to the beach to gather some resources, but I was greeted by a much larger version of the turtle-like creatures that I spotted before crossing. The giant beast immediately began attacking me.
The creature with all its might was clawing at me. I was defending myself against its attacks with my stone hatchet. I saw Tara swimming across to the beach to come and help me.
"Watch out, Tara, it's turning towards you," I yelled.
The giant beast stopped attacking me. It turned itself towards Tara and began to attack her. Tara raised her axe and struck the beast in the head slicing its face open.

"Good shot, Tara," I yelled as I continuously hacked the turtle in the back with my axe.
Tara took a few more swings at the beast with one swing slicing its right eye out.
"Just die already," Tara screamed.
As Tara continued to hack at the beast's face, I made a quick maneuver and landed a few strikes on the creature's stomach spilling its guts all over the ground. The turtle let out a deep-sounding cry and fell to the ground dead.
I quickly ran to Tara, "Are you alright?"
"The beast gave me a couple of bruises and scratches, but other than that I'm fine," Tara said while she wiped the beast's blood from her face.
I was relieved to see that Tara was well. I held her in my arms and told her that I loved her. She wrapped her arms around my neck, kissed me, and said that she loved me too.
After talking about the experience for a bit, me and Tara dragged the creature's body back to our camp to process it for food and hide.
It's very clear to me that Me and Tara are in a dangerous world. Not only do we have to worry about a bunch of savages, but we also have to worry about monsters. I have to say that the world of the future is not a very pleasant place to be in.
Anyways, I can't just stand here idle. I guess I'll try and make another attempt at gathering more resources for the shelter.
