Giant Spiders

Me and Tara got a little more than what we bargained for on our material run. In this world and time, it's safe to just assume that danger is lurking at every corner.

We were walking through the valley searching for iron ore.

"There's gotta be some more iron ore around here somewhere," I said to Tara.

"I don't see anything yet." She replied. "Let's try searching over there."

While we continued exploring the valley for iron ore, we stumbled upon a giant spider feasting on what appeared to be a dead deer.

"That's one enormous spider," I said to Tara. "It looks like it's devouring a deer."

"Don't get too close, Ricky," Tara replied. "It looks dangerous, and it might be poisonous."

We had already gotten too close to the giant spider. If we would have tried to avoid it, I believe it would have heard us and attacked us anyways. So, I decided to make the first attack and struck it while it was feasting on the deer. The spider instantly turned around and came bolting at me with its large fangs and pointy legs.

"Damn, this thing is fast," I yelled as I was fending the creature off with my sword and blocking its attacks with my shield.

Tara was attacking the giant spider with a combination between her bow and sword. The spider had a couple of arrows stuck in it.

"Look out, Ricky," Tara shouted. "Here comes another one."

I looked over and saw the second spider, "Be careful and stay behind them, Tara. I'll try to keep them attacking me. Let's hope this shield holds up."

The battle was getting worst with every moment that passed on. First it was one spider, then there were two, and then there were three.

"Stay vigilant, Tara," I yelled. "These things just don't wanna die."

I tried to keep them attacking me, but two of them ended up targeting Tara.

"Disgusting creatures," Tara shouted as she swung her sword at the two giant spiders that were attacking her.

After a long struggle, me and Tara finally slew the monster spiders. It was pretty damn close though.

"Are you alright, Tara?" I asked. "You're bleeding."

"I got stabbed with their legs a few times," She replied. "I'm in pain, but I'll live."

"The bastards did some damage to me too," I said to Tara as I wiped some of my blood off of myself. "I tell you, Tara, this shield is a lifesaver."

That was the most vicious battle yet since me and Tara have been in this time and world. Both of us were nearly killed by those giant spiders, but I guess the light must have been watching over us. We're definitely gonna need some proper armor, and soon.
