After taking a break, me and Tara went out for another run to gather some resources to make some weapons with.

One of the main resources that we needed was plant fiber so that we could create some twine with it. With twine and stone, I could make us a sharpened stone blade. While we were harvesting plant fiber, we also grabbed eggs from turtle beast nests around the area.

"I've gathered all of the fiber that we're gonna get from this bush," I said to Tara. "Off to the next one!"

Tara pointed to a turtle's nest near us, "Look, there's another nest."

"I didn't even see it," I replied. "Let's gather the eggs."

Without any doubt, I already assumed that we would encounter more turtle beasts. While I was gathering some more fiber from another bush, Tara spotted one of the beasts.

"Richard, there's a turtle beast just right over there. I'm going to make a surprise attack on it," Tara quietly told me as she began to approach the beast.

Tara attacked the beast, and I immediately joined her in combat. We quickly hacked the creature to death with our stone axes.

"We sure make a good team, Tara," I said.

"You got that right, Ricky!" Tara replied while she blew me a kiss.

Me and Tara processed the giant turtle, and then we moved on to gather some more fiber.

"There we go," I said. "We got some more food and hide."

"We're building a nice stock of food, Richard. We should have enough for a little while now," Tara replied as she finished packing up the food and hide.

"Yeah, but we still don't have any hamburgers and fries," I teased.

Tara giggled, "Use your imagination. On your next meal, just pretend that you're having a hamburger and fries."

"Yeah right!" I replied. "Alright, we better get moving. We need to gather a bit more fiber before it gets dark out."

Things got a little more dire when I decided to attack one of the turtle beasts while it was sleeping. I got the first strike, but I didn't think about the second beast nearby. When I struck the beast with my axe, it let out a loud cry waking up the other beast. I had two of these giant turtles chasing and clawing at me.

"Damn it! I woke up the other beast while striking the target one," I yelled to Tara as two angry giant turtles got up from the ground all ready to rip me apart. "I didn't even think about the other one."

"Ricky, you have to be more careful and aware of your surroundings!" Tara chuckled as she came running to aid me in combat.

"Hey! I may be brave and heroic, but I never said that I was a strategist," I implied.

"Oh, please," Tara said as she laughed at me.

I gave her a quick glance, "What!?"

While the beasts were following me and I was trying to evade their attacks, Tara was hacking at them with her axe.

"I hacked a chunk out of this one," Tara yelled.

The beasts grew frustrated and stopped chasing me. They turned towards Tara and began to attack her, and that's when I went into a frenzy and released a series of attacks.

"Are you alright, Tara?" I shouted. "It looks like you got clawed a couple of times."

"I'm fine," she replied while she continued to swing her axe at the giant turtles.

The beasts became tired and weak, and me and Tara quickly put an end to them.

"Well, that was a little dangerous," I said to Tara.

"Yeah, Richard," she replied with a grin across her face. "Maybe try not to provoke two giant turtles at the same time next time!"

I placed my hand on Tara's arm, "Come on, you don't have to rub it in. We all make mistakes!"

Tara laughed and poked me in the chest with her finger, "Of course!"

Shortly after slaying the beasts, me and Tara returned to the shelter to take a break for the rest of the day.

"We had an excellent resource run today," I told Tara. "I think I'll be able to make both of us a sword out of the materials."

"That's good because these stone axes, well hatchets, aren't really that effective in combat," she replied. "Do you think you'll be able to make some protective armor?"

"I don't know about the armor, Tara," I said. "I might be able to make us some shields, but to make anything useful, I'm gonna need a bench designed specifically to make armor."

ree

Me and Tara are just taking it easy now. I'm about to set up a campfire so that Tara can prepare our meals for the evening. I'll begin working on the swords first thing when I get up tomorrow. In regards to the armor, I'm gonna have to craft a bench which means that I'm gonna have to gather some more resources. We got a lot of work set out for us. We're gonna have to take each day as it comes.
