With all the hard work in material gathering that me and Tara did, I was able to smelt enough iron ore to build a bench for forging iron weapons. With the wood that we gathered, I also made a bench for woodwork such as making bows, ladders, etc. I'm also happy to say that I made my first iron tool as well.

"We accomplished a lot over the last few days, Tara," I said. "First the furnace was built, and now we have a blacksmith's bench and a carpenter's bench."

"All this hard work in gathering materials was worth it," Tara replied. "Ricky, do you think you could make me a bow?"

I looked over to the carpenter's bench, "Yeah, not a problem, babe. I'll get started on it as soon as I put the rest of the iron ore into the furnace."

Tara's an excellent swordswoman, but I wonder how well she would do in combat with a bow. She would probably do a lot better than me. I like the sword myself, but I think I could put a shield to good use as well.

I walked over to the blacksmith's bench and picked up the iron tool that I made, "Check this out, Tara. I successfully made my first iron tool with the leftover iron that we had after I finished the blacksmith's bench. It's an iron pick. This should help a lot when it comes to gathering stone and iron ore."

Tara took the iron pick from my hand and examined it, "It looks like there was some quality put into it. I'm proud of you, handyman."

"Thanks, babe," I replied.

Gathering stone and iron ore will be much easier now that we have an iron pick. However, it'll still be a little while before I can make us some decent equipment due to the amount of iron ore that's needed. We'll get there eventually though. Well, I'm just gonna go and make Tara a bow now, and then I'm gonna make myself a shield. This should help in the meantime.
