As we were trying to make it back to the shelter at Turtle Beach, Me and Tara ran out of time and night fell upon us. It was dark and hard to see what was ahead of us.
"Damn it, we ran out of time," I said to Tara. "It's difficult to see if there are any creatures around us."
Tara focused her eyes, "I don't see anything ahead of us."
Me and Tara continued to walk down the shore. It was quiet, a nerve-racking kind of quiet.
"Tara, stop moving," I quietly said. "Did you hear that?"
There was a noise coming from a nearby bush.
"Ricky, look out!" Tara yelled.
Suddenly, a pack of three large hyenas jumped out of the bushes and came dashing at me. I was taken by surprise. I didn't even have time to pull out my sword.
"Shit!" I yelled. "The bastards are kicking my ass."
The beasts were clawing, biting, and dragging me. I was completely defenseless.
"Piss off," I yelled as I tried punching one of the hyenas in the face.
I was losing a lot of blood and was beginning to feel like I was gonna faint, but then I heard Tara screaming. I saw her take her sword. She swung it and sliced open the neck of one of the hyenas. It fell to the ground dead.
"Hold on, Ricky," Tara yelled. "Hang in there."
The other two hyenas stopped attacking me and tried to attack Tara, but she did an excellent job in evading their attacks. She took her sword and pierced one hyena through the rib cage, and she sliced through the spine of the other one. Both of the hyena's lives were put to an end.
Tara came running to me, "Ricky, you're losing a lot of blood."
"It's nothing," I said. "I'm fine."
I knew Tara didn't believe me. I just wanted to tell her that I was fine so that she wouldn't panic.
Tara ripped pieces of her shirt off and placed them on my wounds, "No, you're not fine. You're bleeding all over the place."
As Tara tended to my wounds, I saw something coming out from the shadows. It was another hyena, but this one looked different.
"Tara, watch out! There's another one coming towards you," I yelled.
"I see it, Ricky," Tara replied as she raised her sword.
The darker, larger, and more aggressive hyena jumped at Tara scraping her on the shoulder with its claws. Tara swung her sword slicing the hyena on its side.
"This one is faster and stronger," Tara shouted.
I grabbed my sword and threw it at the giant hyena. The blade pierced through the neck of the beast and became stuck.
"Nice throw, Ricky!" Tara yelled.
The giant hyena lost its focus on Tara and looked towards me. While its attention was diverted, Tara took her blade and pierced it right through the beast's heart. The beast let out a loud cry and dropped to the ground dead.
"That takes care of that," Tara said as she pulled her sword out from the dead hyena's heart.
Tara wiped the dead hyena's blood off of her, and then she pulled my sword out from its neck. She came to me and gave me my sword.

"How are you feeling, Ricky?" Tara asked as she gently brushed her hand across my face to try and comfort me.
"The bleeding is slowing down," I replied. "I think I'll make it."
"I'm so happy that you're still here with me, Ricky," Tara said as tears dripped from her eyes. "With all of the blood you were losing, I was worried that you weren't going to make it.
"I'm still here, Tara," I said as I held her in my arms. "You saved my life, angel."
Me and Tara just faced the most dangerous situation yet since being in this time and world. I was nearly killed by a pack of large vicious hyenas, but Tara intervened and saved my life. That last hyena though, there was something different about it. It was much larger than the other ones, and it almost looked as if it were possessed. I don't know, but the danger just doesn't seem to end here. Anyways, me and Tara are just continuing down the shore to head back to the shelter. Hopefully, we can get there without any more problems.
